Mental Health Ministry

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted.” — Psalm 34:18

Please note that this ministry does not provide therapy or professional counseling—we accompany parishioners through listening, prayer, and presence.

Our Guiding Principles

  • We are a ministry of presence, not problem-solvers.
  • We respect confidentiality while ensuring safety.
  • We honor the dignity of every person, without judgment.
  • We connect people to professional resources when needed.

About Our Ministry

We are a ministry in formation, rooted in the mission of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and in partnership with the Diocese of San Diego Mental Health Ministry Network.

Our purpose is to offer spiritual support, accompaniment, and hope to individuals and families who experience depression, anxiety, stress, grief, or other mental health challenges.

We believe that no one should struggle alone.

Through listening, prayer, and presence, we remind one another that God’s love is with us—even in moments of darkness.

Our Purpose

Our ministry is not therapy and does not replace professional mental health treatment.

We are here to companion and spiritually support those who struggle, to bridge faith and mental health, and to help connect parishioners to trustworthy community resources.
